Yashwant Sonawane murder: Main accused succumbs to burn injuries

Oil mafia Popat Shinde, the prime accused in the murder case of additional district collector Yashwant Sonawane, died here on Monday.

Shinde, who was arrested along with other accomplices on the day of the crime last week, was admitted at the JJ Hospital here with 80 per cent burn injuries.

He succumbed on Monday, reports said.

Shinde was shifted here from Malegaon civil hospital, where he was initially being treated.

Shinde and his associates had burnt alive Sonawane near Manmad in Nashik district on Jan 25.
