Youths inspired by 1st student Parliament
Pune : The first-ever Bhartiya Chhatra Sansad (Parliament of Student Council Leaders), organized by MIT School of Government recently, seems to have inspired the participating youths in a big way.
The three-day event was initiated with an objective of sensitizing today?s youth towards the issues of national interest.
Inspired by the mega event, majority of the students attending the event have decided to make a difference to the society by implementing the learning from the event in their day-to-day life.
Students attending the event feel that the initiative has offered valuable guidelines to Gen X towards nation building. The event concluded with the students passing final resolutions on the sessions held during the session.
The sessions on ?India? the Super Power by Dr A P J Abdul?, ?Combating Corruption? by Aruna Roy, ?Quality Leadership?Key to Nation Building? by renowned industrialist Rahul Bajaj and many more have motivated the students to such an extent that they have decided to voluntarily contribute to the society at large.
?Taking cue from the sessions at MIT, I have decided to devote myself to the issues concerning the rural areas. To bring about a difference, I strongly feel that the parents of rural children need to be educated.
It is also essential to create an awareness of their rights, facilities and services provided to them under various schemes of State and Central government,? said Anand Misra, first-year student from MIT School of Management, Pune.
?Currently, I am pursuing my management degree after which I would like to work in the Social Sector to help India come on a roadmap of growth?, added Misra.
Another participant at the MIT organized event, Paras Raka from Mumbai?s Rajiv Institute of Technology said, ?The sessions have been truly motivational for the student fraternity.
The sessions have instigated us towards the development of the nation by contributing in our own smaller way. Meanwhile taking it forward I would like to voluntarily contribute by providing computer education to the under-privileged section of the society.?
?Some of the sessions have evoked the sense of responsibility amongst us. Amongst the various sessions, one such session by Founder of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan, Aruna Roy on ?fight against corruption and the Right to Information Act, 2005? have been truly inspirational.
?Taking cue from her speech, I have decided to create awareness amongst my classmates about the importance to caste their vote during elections and to choose the suitable candidate,? said Raka.
Some students have also supported the resolution on the ?Revival of Student Elections?.
Rahul Chitnis, a student from Venkateswaraya College of Engineering in Kolhapur said, ?We support the speech on ?Revival of Student Elections? delivered by State Minister of Public Works Department Chhagan Bhujbal. I personally feel that revival of student elections in colleges could help generate interest of youth towards politics.?
