Ethnic violence between Bodos and Muslims this year left 109 people dead in Assam, Minister of State for Home M. Ramachandran said Wednesday.

The minister told the Rajya Sabha that 99 people died in July and August and 10 more in November. A total of 485,921 people took refuge in relief camps following the violence.

“At present, the situation is under control and (is) being monitored regularly,” he said.
