Four suspected Meghalaya’s East Garo Hills district militants killed
Guwahati : Four suspected militants were killed in a nightlong gun battle between the security forces and the outlaws in Meghalaya’s East Garo Hills district, official sources here said on Friday.
They said five gunmen were also arrested after the outlaws were overpowered by the securitymen in the wee hours.
The gun fighting, which began late on Thursday ended early on Friday after the securitymen came under attack from the militants, who were hiding in a jungle at Gajingpara near Mendipathar in East Garo Hills.
The security forces believed the militants were from Garo National Liberation Army, fighting for separate Garo region.
