Guwahati : All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Assam on Thursday to interact with students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and Assam Central University at Silchar, officials said.
During a day-long visit, Gandhi would arrive at Silchar around 10:30 am on Thursday and interact with more than a thousand students of the Assam Central University and 12 other local colleges at the University campus for about an hour, a Assam state NSUI source said.
Later, the Gandhi scion will visit IIT Guwahati and interact with students around 2:30 pm on same day and fly back to Delhi.
Security has been tightened at both the venues ahead of the youth icon’s arrival, sources added.
