Nine Maoists killed in Orissa

Nine Maoists were killed in an encounter with police in Orissa’s Rayagada district early Sunday, police said.

The rebels, including four women, were killed in a forest near Mandibisit in the wee hours.

Huge arms and ammunition were recovered from the area.

On the intervening night of Jan1-2 at least five Maoists, including four women, were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Orissa’s Tamka area under Jajpur district.
