Five killed in Rajasthan accident

Jaipur : At least five people were killed and six injured when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck on the Jaipur-Agra national highway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district Wednesday, police said.

The accident occurred around 11 a.m. when the SUV’s tyre burst near Reta bus stand in Dausa, some 120 km from Jaipur.

The victims were from a family in Sultanpur town in Haryana’s Hisar district. “Eleven members of the family were on their way to offer prayers at the Mehndipur Balaji temple in Dausa. They had already visited another temple in Sikar district,” a police officer told IANS.

Those killed were identified as Teekaram, 35, Sheela Devi, 45, Baljeet, 40, Naveen, 8, and Anjali, 10, police said.
