Rajasthan CM ready to quit if found guilty
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday said he will resign from his political chair if he is found guilty of favouritism.
?I will step down as Rajasthan Chief Minister the second allegations against me are proven right,? Gehlot said.
?No member of my family has benefitted from our government,? he said.
Gehlot allegedly favoured a real estate company Shouri Constructions, where his daughter Sonia and son-in-law Gautam Ankhand are directors. He also faces corruption charges for getting multi-crore contacts for Om Metals and Triton Hotels that use his son Vaibhav as a legal consultant.
?If a particular company received contracts worth Rs110 crore during my tenure, it had earlier received contracts worth Rs300 crore in the previous government?s (BJP) rule through tenders,? Gehlot said.
Former chief minister and leader of the Opposition Vasundhara Raje had demanded Gehlot?s resignation.
“Gehlot must resign. It’s a clear sign of nepotism. The last three years records show that the company has been favored,? the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader had said.
