Resentment is brewing within Tamil Nadu’s ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam over the 2 G scam with fresh threatening from Union Chemical minister M K Alagiri to quit his party post if former Telecom Minster A Raja was not stripped of all party positions he holds.
Alagiri, son of state Chief Minister M K Karunanidhi, has asked the DMK leadership to strip Raja of his party posts or else he (Alagiri) would forgo party position in protest, media reports said on Wednesday.
Alagiri also demanded similar action against his sister Kanimozhi and the state IT Minister Poongothai for their “derogatory” references against him on the recorded conversations in Radia tapes.
According to unconfirmed reports, Alagiri, who is now the DMK’s organising secretary for the south, has also demanded a state level party position, Ndtv said.
