Lucknow : A 20-year-old girl was in critical condition Wednesday after being attacked with acid by a jilted lover near here in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The incident took place in Dibiyapur village in Barabanki district. The girl had refused to respond to the overtures of the young man, an official said.
On Wednesday, the attacker intercepted her, threw a bottle of acid on her face and fled.
The girl was rushed to a medical facility by passersby. Her condition is stated to be critical.
