Official robbed on road in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad  :  A hydropower project official was held up at pistol point and robbed of his cash, mobile and other valuables here as he was on his way to catch a bus to office Monday morning, police said.

The incident occurred in Surya Nagar area around 7 a.m. as two armed robbers on a scooter stopped Arun Kumar Jain, resident of Ramprastha area, and told him to surrender all his valuables including his purse, mobile phone and a gold ring to them.

After taking all the articles, the robbers asked Jain to proceed to his destination without looking back, warning him they would shoot him dead if he did so. As a frightened Jain complied, the robbers fled.

The victim reached the police and lodged the complaint with them.

“We are trying to nab the criminals,” said Superintendent (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav.
