PMO writes to Mayawati on Rahul Gandhi?s security breach

The Prime Minister?s Office (PMO) has written to the Maywati government in Uttar Pradesh seeking detailed reports on the alleged security breach during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi?s recent visit to the state.

According to reports, the PMO has sought clarification from UP government on lack of coordination between state police and Gandhi’s Special Protection Group (SPG).

On Monday evening, Gandhi faced protests from Samajwadi Party (SP) activists while visiting Allahabad.

Youth activists of SP showed black flags to the Congress general secretary and tried to stop his convoy while he was going to Anand Bhavan, Nehru-Gandhi’s ancestral home.

The protesters even allegedly tried to manhandle his SPG personnel.
