Hyderabad, Sept 6 : A Kolkata-based Air Asia employee, died of shock at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) after her right hand got trapped in an aerobridge on Sunday morning, aviation officials investigating the accident said.
Twenty-four-year-old Amrita Roy was declared brought dead after being shifted to Apollo Medical Centre at the airport, an airport communique said. It said the freak incident was perhaps the first of its kind in Indian aviation history.
Police have registered a case of death due to negligence based on a complaint by the airport manager. Airport police station Inspector R Sanjay Kumar said.
Roy was returning to her office at around 10.00 am after all the passengers on the Hyderabad-Kuala Lumpur flight had boarded the aircraft when the tragedy occurred.
