Yet to fully recover from losses: Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee
Kolkata, Nov 9 (IBNS): With Assembly Elections in the state drawing closer, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has conceded that the Left Front in Bengal was yet to fully recover from the factors behind the recent landslide of electoral losses.
Speaking to a local television network recently, Bhattacharjee said that the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Front had a lot left to do to recover all the ground lost to the opposition Trinamool Congress (TMC).
He blamed ?an anti-establishment feeling? for the recent poll debacles.
Saying that ?the situation is not as bad as it was? the minister said that his party had found that they had recovered ground in the latest elections, especially in West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts.
He said that his party had drawn a lesson from the setbacks and measures had been taken to curb the alienation from the people.
Taking on the TMC, Bhattacharjee attacked party chief Mamata Banerjee for her performance as the railway minister.
”What is the Trinamool?s performance? What are they doing with the railways? Will Bengal go the same way as has happened with the railways?? he said.
