At least 18 people were killed and several injured when a train hit a vehicle at an unmanned level crossing in Bihar’s Madhubani district on Sunday.
The incident occurred at Bharia-Bishanpur village when Nizamuddin-Jainagar Garib Rath express hit the vehicle in the afternoon.
Police said the the victims were all in a seven seater jeep. Many of the dead were women.
The vehicle was overcrowded and the victims were supporters of a politician who had won a local body election, reports said.
