Kanpur :At least four people were killed after an explosion brought down a two-storeyed government heath centre at Sirohi Road here on Thursday afternoon, reports said.
“The dead are two men and two women. So far we have only recovered four bodies,” Kanpur Police spokesperson Sachin Kumar told IBNS.
“The tragedy occurred from the explosion of fire crackers according to initial clues,” he said.
The government heath centre collapsed after the explosion, trapping at least 12 people, including health workers, women and children, under the debris.
However, the Uttar Pradesh Police said it is ?not a terror attack?, but a result of a gas cylinder burst or crackers.
Anti-terror squad is on its way to Kanpur to probe the explosion.
