23 injured in Tamil Nadu explosion
Twenty-three people were injured in an explosion on Monday when a crude bomb meant for scaring wild animals, went off at a bus stand in the Tiruppur district, around 380 km from here.
According to reports, six women, four students and a one-year-old boy were among those injured in the explosion, which was caused when a tractor ran over the bomb at the Kuzhumam bus stand.
The sack containing the country-made bombs is believed to have belonged to a man, who supplied the explosives to farmers to scare off wild boars.
People standing nearby were injured after they were hit by splinters.
Most of them have been admitted to a nearby hospital, while two of them were taken to a government hospital in Coimbatore, reports said.
