Kolkata : A late blitz from Carlos Brathwaite, with 34 off 10 balls, and a stupendous 85 not out from Marlon Samuels ensured West Indies grab a thrilling four-wicket victory to beat England and emerge as the World Twenty20 champions at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday.
West Indies needed 19 runs off the last over and Brathwaite hit Ben Stokes for four massive sixes which took them home. For England, left-arm pacer David Willey picked up figures of 3/20.
This is the second World T20 title for West Indies, who had previously won it in 2012.
