Abhinav, Gagan win India’s first gold at CWG

India got its first gold medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games here with shooters Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang performing the feats on Tuesday morning in the 10M Air Rifle event.

Olympian Abhinav Bindra shot 595 and Gagan Narang shot 598 to win the 10M Air Rifle event.

“We are all happy. We started with a gold now. Both of them are in good form and it is a dream team,” chief coach Sunny Thomas said after the win.

“They have done the country proud. I am proud of them,” said Abhinav’s father A S Bindra in reaction.
