K Rosaiah resigned as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on Wednesday after facing massive resistance from within the party over his succession.
“Will submit my resignation to the Governor,” said Rosaiah at a press conference here.
The Congress leader was facing resistance from his own party members, who were supporters of late CM YSR Reddy and wanted his son Jagan Mohan to be his successor to the post.
Andhra Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy and Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy are forerunners as the next CM, according to sources.
