Bihar polls: Lalu Prasad slams Congress
Patna : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad on Monday slammed the Congress saying the political rallies of Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi will not translate into votes in Bihar since the Congress has no standing in the state.
?They had held rallies in Jharkhand also. With due respect to Sonia Gandhi, what was the outcome?? Lalu Prasad told CNN IBN.
?Congress has no existence in the state,? an agitated Lalu Prasad said.
Congress has shunned the RJD in the state and going it alone in the elections beginning on Oct 21.
?Congress is the root cause of all diseases. Congress is nobody?s friend,? Prasad said.
He said when everyone raised the bogey of Sonia Gandhi?s foreign origin he stood by and supported her.
?I said she is the bahu [daughter-in-law] of India. I supported her candidature for Prime Ministership,? Prasad said, who party RJD is fighting the elections with Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).
?Congress wants to eradicate us- Lalu, Mulayam, Mayawati, Karunanidhi. But we are the original parties,? Lalu said.
He said Rahul Gandhi does not understand India.
Bihar goes to a six-phased Assembly Polls in Oct-Nov beginning with the first phase on Oct 21.
The term of the Bihar Assembly is to end on Nov 27.
