Blast derails goods train in Assam’s Udalguri district
Guwahati : A goods train was derailed in a powerful explosion in Assam’s Udalguri district on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident took place at Daiphang area, some 10 km from Udalguri town, as a blast at around 10:35 pm on Wednesday derailed 16 bogies of the goods train.
The train reportedly came from Rangia and was headed for Rangapara in Sonitpur district.
National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants are being suspected for triggering the explosion.
There have been no casualties reported so far.
Last month, NDFB militants had kidnapped two drivers of a goods train from Rangapara area.
