Blast kills eight-year-old in Manipur

Imphal : An eight-year-old girl was killed and five women from her family injured when a powerful bomb exploded in a residential locality in Manipur’s Imphal East district Thursday.

The blast occurred inside the home of P. Jila in Panging, police said, close to the Police Training Academy.

The explosion killed eight-year-old Pebam Debenao and injured Pebam Memi, Pebam Nemcha, Jrecy Kom, Kecey Kom and Anjali Kom.

All the injured have been rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru hospital, an official said. The condition of the victims is stated to be serious.
