Chennai Super Kings hopeful of a turnaround against Pune Warriors

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Albie Morkel feels that the defending champions have the ability to porgress to the knock-out stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when they face Pune Warriors at home here Monday.

The South African felt it was too early for the defending champions to press the Panic button and stressed that they have the firepower to turn things.

?I don?t see it as a do or die situation. If we win one or two games, we will be at the top. The tournament is wide open.

?We have prepared hard and the intensity level is quite high. We hope we can hit the right notes by winning a couple of matches. We have a proud record in Chennai.

?We needn?t panic as we have been in similar situations before recovering ourselves. Last year, we had to win almost every match to
make the semifinals and we accomplished that.

?We are not intimidated by the defeats. We have two matches convincingly and lost two close matches. We haven?t played badly,?
Morkel said.

Morkel said that fielding was an area of concern.

?We have been bowling well and batting well, and fielding is one area we are striving to improve. We are trying our best to meet the
standards,” he said.

Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming is also hopeful of making the play-offs.

“We have won two home games, so if we win the rest of the home games, we are going to be close to the play-offs. We have to keep winning matches and not worry about the run-rate. If you have one good week, you find yourself at the top of the table.”
