Security arrangements have been tightened in all important and sensitive locations across Manipur in view of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s visit on Wednesday here.
The Home Minister will hold discussions with army and civil officials reviewing the law and order situation of the state and other neighbouring regions.
Chidambaram will also review the passing out ceremony of the 36th batch of trainees of the North Eastern Police Academy during his stay.
He is expected to meet the senior officials of Meghalaya police and the state home department and will visit Bishenpur and Churachandpur districts.
