Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Thursday came down heavily on the Congress for ?failing? to stop Bangladeshi immigrants enter Assam.
Campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Assam Assembly election, Modi said: ?Congress has failed to check the influx issue. The Congress cannot save you from harassment of Bangladeshis.?
?You must decide?vote for a change, for all-round development of your state. I am asking for your vote to free Assam from Bangladeshis”, Modi said at an election rally here.
Putting up the example of Gujarat in front of Assam, Modi said while Congress gives a ?red carpet? welcome to immigrants, the BJP government under him has been able to successfully deal with the influx issue and also ban illegal cattle export to the neighbouring country with the help of judiciary.
The BJP leader on Thursday addressed three election rallies in Assam-at Golokgunj in Dhubri district, Pathacharkuchi in Barpeta district and Hajo in Kamrup (Rural) district.
