Curfew clamped in 3 Kashmir towns

Curfew was re-imposed early on Saturday in three towns of north Kashmir as authorities feared unrests even as the rest of the valley underwent a strike called by separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

The curfew was clamped in Delina and Palahalan towns of Baramulla district and Bandipora district following reports that some people were planning to create law and order problems, the police said.

Normal life in the rest of the valley was affected as shops, business and establishments remained shut due to the strike called by the Hurriyat Conference.

Even though public transport remained off the roads, private vehicles were plying in the city in large numbers, local media reported.
