Deccan Chargers beat Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs
Deccan Chargers played good cricket on Tuesday evening as they defeated the home side Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs at the Ferozshah Kotla stadium here.
Chasing Deccan Chargers score of 168 runs for the loss of four wickets, the Delhi batsmen could only manage 152 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
Delhi opener David Warner remained the highest scorer for Delhi with his 51 runs before losing his wicket to Dhawan.
Delhi received their first immediate blow in the match as Sehwag (12) got out early in the match as the Delhi Daredevils score card read 28 for the loss of one wicket.
Venugopal Rao (21) Y Nagar (23) tried to give the Delhi run chase some amount of momentum but could not reach the winning total.
James Hopes and (17*) and Morne Morkel (8*) remained not out till the end.
DT Christian and Harmeet Singh shared two wickets each while Ojha, MIshra and Dhawan scalped one wickets in the match for Deccan Chargers.
Earlier, batting first Deccan Chargers had posed a total of 168 runs for the loss of four wickets in their quota of 20 overs with S Sohal (62) scoring the top score in the innings.
Skipper KC Sangakkara missed his half century in the match as quick bowler Dinda picked up his wicket at his personal score of 49 runs.
C White contributed well with his willow with his quick unbeaten knock of 31 runs from just 25 deliveries.
He hit two boundaries and a six in his innings.
Sohal of Deccan Chargers was declared the player of the match in the end.
