Deccan Chargers beat Mumbai Indians by 10 runs

Mumbai Indians suffered another morale shattering loss as they went down by 10 runs against Deccan Chargers in a low scoring Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 136, Mumbai Indians again suffered a batting collapse and could get to 125 for eight in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar also found it difficult to score runs and made 37 runs off 42 balls, hitting only three fours.

Though Tendulkar held one end, he lost partners regularly at the other end and Mumbai Indians were four for 54 in the 12th over.

The middle-order cracked once again as the quartet of Aiden Blizzard (1), Ambati Rayudu (2), Rohit Sharma (4) and Andrew Symonds (8) failed to get even to double figures.

Tendulkar and Tirumalasetti Suman (14) started the repair act, but their 27-run stand was cut short after medium pacer Anand Rajan struck twice in the 16th over to get rid of both the batsmen.

The big hitting Kieron Pollard raised hopes with some lusty blows as he struck quickfire 24 off 13 balls, hitting three fours and a six, but his efforts were not enought to take Mumbai Indians home.

Rajan picked up three for 27 while Ishant Sharma bagged two for 30.

Earlier, opting to bat, Deccan Chargers batsmen got starts but failed to convert them into big innings. Skipper Kumar Sangakkara and Shikhar Dhawan made identical 27s.

For Mumbai Indians, paceman Dhaval Kulkarni was the most successful bowler with his three for 26.
