Rajasthan Royals beat Daredevils by six wickets
Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Daredevils by six wickets for their second win in two games and move atop the Indian Premier League (IPL) leaderboard.
Rahul Dravid (38) set the platform and Johan Botha (39 not out) anchored the innings while Ross Taylor (18 not out) finished things off with his trademark six and four with nine balls to spare.
Dravid hit a series of boundaries off the erratic Ashok Dinda, but Amit Paunikar missed a wild slog to gift him a wicket. Dravid also punished Irfan Pathan for a six and two fours in a 15-run over.
Dravid’s stay ensured that fifty-seven came off the Powerplay, and the game was heading Rajasthan’s way.
Earlier in the day, Y.Venugopal Rao (60 off 40 balls) and David Warner (54 off 44) helped Delhi recover for 36/4 and post 151 for six in 20 overs.
For Delhi Daredevils, it was their second successive loss and some poor bowling couldn’t help them in preventing a score of 151 for six in 20 overs.
