Elephant kills man in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district
Siliguri : The Officials said that a man was killed and three forest officials were injured on Friday when an elephant attacked them in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district.
Divisional Forest Officer P.R. Pradhan said the incident took place in Rajganj area when the elephant strayed out of a forest and killed Niren Roy, 50, who had gone near the jungle to relieve himself.
The animal injuring three officials also attacked a forest department vehicle.
The incident comes two days after an elephant strayed into a residential area in neighbouring Siliguri and went on a rampage, damaging several houses and vehicles.
