Curfew was reimposed in some of the areas of six police stations here on a day when the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) served a diktat asking the people to resume normal activities for Friday.
Police said the prohibitory orders hdad been re-imposed in the areas under five police stations in downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) for precautionary measures.
The same provision was also clamped in the areas under Batmaloo police station.
Security forces were strengthened on Nallahmar Road and other towns and SeK areas and people were being asked to remain indoors.
However, in the uptown and civil lines areas, life returned to normal with shops and business establishments remaining open.
