Gayle storm blows Rajasthan Royals away
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ruined the party of home side Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they defeated them by nine wickets in a league level match at the popular Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Wednesday night.
RCB chased down Rajasthan Royal’s score of 146 runs for the loss of six wickets in just 17 overs. RCB scored 151 for the loss one wicket.
Shane Warne and his men were completely shattered on Wednesday night as in form West Indies hard-hitter Chris Gayle destroyed the opposition bowlers completely with his long handle in this match.
The tall West Indian batsman scored unbeaten 70 runs from just 44 deliveries. He hit six boundaries and four over boundaries in the match.
Gayle has turned into a ‘destruction machine’ in this IPL season 4 with his memorable performances in nearly all the matches,
He was given good support by T. Dilshan (38) as the pair posted a partnership of 68 runs before Dilshan lost his wicket to RR skipper Warne in the seventh over of the match.
Indian bating sensation, Virat Kohli, joined Gayle and contributed with his willow and made things tough for Warne and his boys at their home ground.
Virat remained unbeaten on 39 with Gayle, assuring his side another victory in the IPL.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals scored 146 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs.
R Dravid remained the top scorer for the team with his 37 runs.
S Aravind scalped three wickets for the visiting team ans was named the ‘Player of the match’.
