Bhopal : Achche Lal, a Class 12 dropout, did what few would dare to do in his community. Breaking taboo, the young farmer in Madhya Pradesh married a woman who was raped by bandits only two days before they were to wed.
The marriage took place in a village in Shivpuri district Tuesday, Lal told IANS.
On Sunday night, the bride’s family was in despair after a gang of robbers took away all the wedding jewellery and cash and raped the bride and her sister at gunpoint.
“It was no fault of the girl. I need to stand by her. I have married her and I will fight for her justice too,” he said.
Both families belong to the Lodhi caste.
