I was humiliated by PCB: Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi, who announced his retirement fron Inernational cricket on Monday, said he was humiliated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) .

He announced that his retirement is due to his differences with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) who hace insulted him and he was not ready to play a single match under this board.

He said that he had received a Pakistan national squad that was torn apart by several controversies, yet he managed to pull the team to the Semi-Final.

He said that despite this performance as a captain his advices were ignored by the board.

Afridi said that he was humiliated by the Pakistan Cricket Board and that was also a main reason behind his decision quiting from International cricket.

He also mentioned that he was ready to reverse his decision if a new board came into power in the future.

Pakistan cricket chief Ijaz Bhatt announced the replacement of Shahid Afridi by Misbah-ul-Haq for the two match series against Ireland on May 19.

Bhatt however did not state any reason for the replacement although it is speculated that the step was taken for Afridi’s recent criticism of the Pakistani team management after the One Day series against West Indies.

Afridi and his team defeated West Indies in the recently concluded One Day series by 3-2 margin.

He had also led the team to the Semi Final of the World Cup 2011 this year.
