Dhaka : Three Pakistani cricketers, including fast bowler Shoaib Akther, were taken for a random dope test by the Internataional Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the cricket World Cup here Thursday.
Team manager Intikhab Alam said that the dope tests were done on Akhtar, wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and mediumpacer Umar Gul.
Shoaib had earlier tested positive for the banned substance nandrolone in 2006.
He did not play against Bangladesh in Pakistan’s first warm-up match on Tuesday.
