ICC serves bans to Butt, Asif, Amir

Three Pakistani cricketers – Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir ? accused of spot fixing in the Lord?s Test in England last summer have been served bans by the International Cricket Council (ICC), television reports said on Saturday evening.

While Amir and Asif were slapped with a five-year and a seven-year ban respectively, Butt bore the big blow with a ban of ten years.

The trio, suspended by the International Cricket Council, were facing life bans if found guilty of bowling deliberate no-balls in the match.

The three cricketers have also been questioned by Scotland Yard detectives over claims they accepted cash to deliberately bowl no-balls following an undercover report in the News of the World.
