Bangalore : It was an exciting moment for every Indians as India clinched both the second Test match as well as the series against Australia by a 2-0 margin here on Wednesday.
Chasing 207 for victory Indian batsmen never faced much of a challenge from the Australian bowlers and reached the victory margin by loosing only three wickets.
Sehwag failed in this innings too as his wicket was picked up by Hilfenhaus at a personal score of 7.
Since then the two young stars Murali Vijay (37) and debutant Cheteshwar Pujara (72) steadied the innings.
Later on Sachin Tendulkar scored another fifty to guide India to a smooth victory.
Sachin remained not out on 53 along with Rahul Dravid who scored 21.
Hilfenhaus, Hauritz and Watson took 1 wicket each in the Indian second innings.
Earlier, Australians had scored 223 runs in the second innings and took a lead of 207 runs, as they were bowled out by the crafty Indian bowlers.
India on the other hand had scored 495 in response to the 478 runs total that was scored by Australia in the first innings.
With this win the Indian team remained at the number one spot of the International Cricket Council Test ranking.
