IPL: Chennai Kings beat Pune Warriors by 25 runs
Chennai Super Kings returned to their winning streak on Monday night as they defeated Pune Warriors by 25 runs in the 29th match of Indian Premiere League (IPL) at MA Chidambaram Stadium here.
Chasing Chennai’s total of 142 for the loss for the loss of six wickets, Pune Warriors could only reach 117 for the loss of nine wickets n 20 overs.
Skipper Yuvraj Singh (34) remained the top scorer of the Pune innings but apart from him none could manage to give some amount of resistance to the Chennai bowlers.
Morkel remained the pick of the Chennai bowlers as he picked up three wickets by giving away only 29 runs from the four overs he bowled in the match.
Aussie bowler D.Bollinger and spinner R. Ashwin shared two wickets each in the match.
Earlier, Chennai had posed the total of 142 runs for the loss of six wickets with M.Hussey scoring a valiant 61 runs from 48 deliveries.
M.Vijay (31) and skipper MS Dhoni (26) added good amount of runs to the innings with their willow.
J.Taylor took three wickets for by giving away only 30 runs for his IPL side.
