Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has strongly condemned the killing of the two sisters, who were abducted and shot dead by suspected Lashker-e-Taiba militants on Monday.
” If you can’t condemn the killing of these two girls, irrespective of your political beliefs & do so without qualifying it then shame on you,” Abdullah has tweeted.
The incident, which is the first major attack on civilians this year, took place in the North Kashmir town of Sopore of Baramulla district.
Police said Arifa(19) and Akhtar(17), daughters of Ghulam Nabi Dar, were dragged out of home by three gunmen in front of their faily at around 10 pm and shot dead half a kilo metre away.
One of the gunmen was stated to be a Pakistani.
