Jharkhand: Maoist landmine explosion kills 3 cops

Chatra (Jharkhand) : Three policemen have been killed in a landmine explosion by suspected Maoists in the Tandwa area of the Chatra district of north-western Jharkhand on Monday night, media reports said.

The blast occurred when the police jeep, returning from a search operation carrying seven policemen, drove over the landmine in the Maoist-infested area.

An assistant sub inspector, a head constable and a home guard are among those who have died even as the injured were rushed to a hospital, reports said.

The red rebels are also believed to have seized weapons from the injured securitymen before leaving the spot.
