Kiran Kumar Reddy to be Andhra CM

Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy is slated to be the next Chief Minister of the State, television reports said on Wednesday.

Reddy, one of the prime contenders for the post since K Rosaiah’s resignation on Wednesday, will be sworn in on Thursday morning, NDTV reported.

Congress party member Rosaiah had resigned as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on Wednesday after facing massive resistance from within the party over his succession.

The Congress leader was facing resistance from his own party members, who were supporters of late CM YSR Reddy and wanted his son Jagan Mohan to be his successor to the post.
