Mayawati puts Mulayam Singh under house arrest?
Lucknow : Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday alleged that he and his son Akhilesh were put under house arrest here after the party?s planned to hold a three-day agitation against Mayawati government.
The duo was reportedly stopped from going to the airport to catch a flight to Delhi to attend the Lok Sabha proceedings.
Yadav, on Sunday, had announced that his party will hold a three-day agitation across Uttar Pradesh to ?end? the ?misrule? of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government.
“Our rights have been violated. Akhilesh and I wanted to attend the Lok Sabha but our path was barricaded. The government is not letting us attend the Lok Sabha. The DIG and the DM of Lucknow will be taught a lesson,” Yadav said.
Yadav had also written to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar against his alleged house arrest and Maya government.
“I have written a letter to Lok Sabha speaker against the Mayawati government,” said Singh.
However, Lucknow District Magistrate (DM) Anil Kumar Sagar declined Yadav?s allegations and said there was no house arrest.
?Yadav and his son were neither put under house arrest, not there was a check on their movement to the airport,? said Sagar.
