Militants attack two police post in Kashmir
Sopore : Militants attacked two police posts near Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, but no casualty was reported, officials said.
Around 5:30 am, the millitants carried out the attack at Warpora in the north Kashmir’s apple town Sopore, police said.
According to reports, the militants attacked with grenades and AK 47 rifles, triggering a firefight that continued for 15 minutes.
No one was killed or injured, an official told IBNS.
Around 3:45 pm the insurgents hurled two UBG shells on 22 RR camp at Badambagh in Sopore.
The militants threw the shells from the rear of the camp as they exploded inside the camp ground.
After the attacks, the police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and army launched combing operations in the area.
Sopore is 15 km north of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
