Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has been removed from the post of Pakistan One Day International cpatain for the upcoming matches against Ireland.
Shahid Afridi has been replaced by Test captain Misbah -ul Haq.
Pakistan cricket chief, Ijaz Bhatt announced the replacement of Shahid Afridi by Misbah-ul-Haq for the two match series against Ireland on Thursday.
Bhatt however did not state any reason for the replacement although it is speculated that the step was taken for Afridi’s recent criticism of the Pakistani team management after the
One Day series against West Indies.
Afridi and his team defeated West Indies in the recently concluded One Day series by 3-2
margin.
He had also led the team to the Semi Final of the World Cup 2011 this year.
However, Afridi will play for Pakistan as a normal player in the Ireland series.
Pakistan will play two One Day International matches against Ireland on May 28 and May 30.
