MS Dhoni shaves head after victory

World Cup winning Indian cricket captain M S Dhoni has a new hair style. He has tonsured his head.

The new look Dhoni is sans his hair and speculations are rife that he had kept some “mannat” or vow before the god to sacrifice the hair if he won the World Cup.

His surprised all on Sunday by his clean shaven head during an official photo session in the backdrop of the Gateway of India in Mumbai.

Known for his flowing mane once, Dhoni of late had short hair.

Dhoni led the team from the front on Saturday to win the Cup.

He said there were plenty of questions on his decisions during the Cup, but it is good to win.

“It feels really good. Last one month we have done very well, spent time together in dressing room. These are memorable 35 odd days,” he said after winning the Cup, adding that “this was what we wanted to achieve.”

“I am happy the number of runs I got,” he said speaking on his performance in the final. He scored 91 runs in the final.

A billion prayers were heard as India after 28 years lifted the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in a fairy tale win crushing a fighting Sri Lanka by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.

A nation of over 1.21 people erupted in joy as India (277 for 4) beat Sri Lanka with a huge Dhoni sixer.
