Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Daredevils
Mumbai, May 7 (IBNS): Mumbai Indians registered a comprehensive 32-run win over Delhi Daredevils in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Wankhede Stadium here Saturday.
Chasing a Mumbai Indians 179/4, Daredevils were bowled out for 142 in 19 .5 overs after James Hopes top scored with 55 while Y.Venugopal Rao made 37.
With the win, Mumbai Indians stayed atop the IPL charts and also moved closer towards the knock-out stage while Daredevils are heading towards elimination.
Asked to bat first, Ambati Rayudu ?(59) and Rohit Sharma (49) came up with solid knocks as Mumbai Indians got a challenging 178 for four in 20 overs.
Openers Aiden Blizzard (37) and skipper Sachin Tendulkar (14) gave them a great start with their 50-run stand.
Daredevils lost the match in third over when David Warner (2), Virender Shewag (1), Colin Ingram (1) and Naman Ojha (1) were back in the pavilion with just seven runs on board.
