Mumbai Indians crush Delhi Daredevils by 8 wickets

Mumbai Indians dominated all throughout the game on Sunday as they crushed Delhi Daredevils by eight wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla ground in their first match of the cash rich Indian Premiere League (IPL).

Mumbai Indians reached the target of 99 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 16.5 overs.

Batting first, Delhi Daredevils kept on losing wickets at regular intervals as they could only manage 95 runs for the loss of all wickets in 17.4 overs.

NV Ojha remained the top scorer of the innings with his 29 runs before losing his wicket to Murtaza.

Sri Lankan speed-star Lasith Malinga continued his good form from the Word Cup and picked up 5 wickets by giving away only 13 runs.

Chasing the small target of 96 runs Delhi had the a terrible start to the innings as they lost the wicket of DJ Jacobs (1) as the score card showed 1 run for the loss of one wicket.

AT Rayudu (14) gave skipper Sachin Tendulkar a good company at the crease as his side got an early blow in the game.

But soon Rayadu perished and it brought R. Sharma to the crease.

Sharma (27*) and Tendulkar (46*) played sensibly till the end as Mumbai Indians registered victory.
