Mumbai Indians won by 4 wickets against KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders were knocked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after they lost the eliminator match against Mumbai Indians by four wickets at Wankhede Stadium here Wednesday.

With the win, Mumbai Indians, who also booked a Champions League berth, qualified for Friday?s second qualifier match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The winner of the match would qualify for Saturday?s final.

Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 148 runs losing six wickets after Aiden Bilzzard scored 51 and Sachin Tendulkar scored 36. They gave Mumbai Indians a strong start with their 81-run opening wicket stand.

Blizzard struck a 30-ball 51, which was studded with seven fours and two sixers, while Tendulkar dropped anchor at the other end and played patiently during his 28-ball innings, hitting six fours.

The dismissal of Blizzard triggered a mini collapse as Mumbai Indians lost four wickets for just 22 runs and slumped from 81 for no loss to 103 for four. James Franklin then played a responsible knock of unbeaten 29 runs while Harbhajan Singh (11 not out) finished off the
match in style by hitting a huge six as Mumbai Indians romped home with four balls to spare.

Earlier, Munaf Patel took three wickets as Mumbai restricted Kolkata to 147 for seven despite Ryan ten Doeschate’s unbeaten 49-ball 70.

Doeschate’s knock was studded with three sixes and six fours and it was due to his knock that Kolkata ended with a respectable score after having lost their first four wickets with 20 runs on the board.
