Hyderabad : Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily on Thursday said the crisis in the newly-formed Andhra Pradesh cabinet will soon be sorted out.
The Congress government in AP, led by Kiran Kumar Reddy, plunged into a crisis after two ministers served quit notice midnight Wednesday, only hours after a 39-member cabinet was formed.
“There is nothing to worry; all will be sorted out soon,” Moily told reporters on Thursday.
According to reports, Moily and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had a meeting with Andhra Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Thursday.
Satyanarayana is allegedly the one who sparked the rebellion against Reddy. He accused the CM for allotting all ?plum? departments to the Reddys, depriving the members from backward castes.
Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel too spoke to him to find a way to end the ongoing crisis.
The two ministers –Vatti Vasantha Kumar and Komatireddi Venkat Reddy– voicing unhappiness over portfolio allocation, sent in their resignation letters separately to their new CM, who also held the office for the first time on Wednesday morning following the swearing in ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Reddy called an emergency meeting on Thursday to sort out the problem face-to-face with the rebel ministers as their letters of resignation had not been accepted so far, media reports said.
The CM has deployed two ministers-Aanam Ramanarayana Reddy and Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy-to talk to the discontent and rebel members of his cabinet.
